Holiday Villa in Fuerteventura
Welcome to Fuerteventura in the warm Canary Islands and Betsy, our lovely one-bedroom bungalow near the beach. She can be found in the town of Corralejo at the North East point of the island, part of Estrella Del Mar a tranquil, small, secluded complex. Betsy is on the level and one of 30 privately owned bungalows, which are gathered around a lovely salt water swimming pool and nestled nicely amongst mature gardens with cactus, bougainvillea, large palms and grass. Betsy is in an excellent location, in a 'good' area of town on the Avenida Grandes Playas - the road with the Blue Bay and Bahia Royal hotels at either end.
We are a 5 minute walk to the nearest beach / sea or some local facilities and a 15 minute walk to the Baku Water Park or the centre of the town for great evenings out whatever your taste. Or for the daylight hours take a 15 - 45 minute walk to the glorious golden sand dunes and clear turquoise water which dominate the coastal approach to Corralejo. These dunes hide many beaches which are great for swimming when the flags are green and amber or an abundance of water sports for which you can hire the necessary equipment and even have lessons in order to enhance your holiday! For small lagoons and quieter water try El Cotillo on the west coast - 15 minutes by car or try the local bus. A 2 minute walk from Estrella Del Mar is El Campanario (a small Spanish shopping mall) which blends shopping with dining, drinking and a host of entertainment with the occasional local craft market. This traditionally styled, must visit venue also has a taxi rank should you wish to take the weight off your feet to visit the town or the sand dunes. There are a couple of small supermarkets and this is great place to stop and sit by the fountain, watching the world go by at one of the local cafes – whatever the time of year. Most people will speak English but you can also try out your Spanish OR Italian, French or German as Fuerteventura is favoured by a wide variety of Europeans.
There are many places you might want to visit on the Island, but staying at Betsy is also about relaxing. Chill out with a drink on your private patio, have a bbq in the evening or top up your suntan whilst reading one of the many books available to borrow from our personal library. And if Betsy’s music and DVD selection does not appeal then you can lie in the sun on your own personal loungers or venture another 20 feet and swim in the pool. Hiring a car and driving around the island is a lot easier than you might think or get a transfer from the airport, which is only about 30 minutes away. If golf is your thing, there is a golf course at Caleta De Fuste, approx 30 minutes drive away and we are awaiting a golf course shortly at Corralejo.

If you are hiring a car it is a simple journey of about 30 minutes. Follow the Corralejo signs for about 30 kilometres and as you enter the outskirts of the town noted by the Corralejo sign which is at the end of the miles of sand dunes and the beginning of the hotel clusters you simply take the first right at the first roundabout and then half a mile later the first right at the second roundabout followed 50 yards later by the left turn. More detailed instructions will be provided when you book.
